Aadhar Subsidy

Aadhar Subsidy

The government of India uses Aadhaar to streamline and target numerous subsidies and welfare programs. Linking Aadhaar to subsidy programs helps to reduce leakages, ensure that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries, and reduce fraudulent activity.
It should be noted that the usage of Aadhaar for subsidies and social programs is governed by government policies and regulations. While Aadhaar can improve efficiency and transparency in subsidy distribution.

The Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG (DBTL) scheme in India links Aadhaar to the LPG consumer’s bank account, preventing diversion and ensuring the rightful beneficiary receives the subsidy. Some states link Aadhaar to subsidized fertilizers, ensuring proper distribution. Aadhaar is also used in the Public Distribution System (PDS) for food subsidies, scholarship programs, and social welfare schemes to authenticate beneficiaries and prevent duplication of benefits.
